The free promise
This page is a commitment, and it is written to be inconvenient to me later. If you are deciding whether the trainer you just found will still be here, still free and still whole in a year, this is the answer, in public, where you can hold me to it.
- The GeoGuessr trainers are free, complete, and unlimited. Forever. Every bollard, chevron, guardrail, sign, dialing-code, plate and administrative-region trainer: the ones here today and the ones added later. No limits, no required accounts, no premium regions, no daily play caps.
- There will never be advertising.
- Nothing that is free today will move behind a paywall tomorrow. Trainer or not. City Cover and City Blocks are free and stay free.
- Paid support buys extras, never access. Your own history, custom drills, cosmetics. Never trainer content, never trainer access, and never the removal of an annoyance that was added in order to sell the fix.
- Any sponsorship is a single, named, disclosed relationship. No ad networks, no tracking, no retargeting.
Why the promise is scoped rather than blanket
The trainers are what people found, shared, and came back for. They are the reason anyone trusts this site, and they are not a commercial surface. Treating them as one would trade something durable for a small amount of money.
Everything else is left genuinely open. If a real, different product turns up later (a deep campaign mode, a curated course, a tool for a different audience), it can be sold on its own merits, provided it is new, is announced as paid from day one, and takes nothing away from what already exists.
Points 3 and 4 are the guardrails. Together they rule out the whole class of "free with generous limits" designs, and they protect the trainers from a future, more cash-hungry version of this project.
What pays for it
Donations, and so far not many of them. The trainers cost real money to serve, mostly in map data, so if the site is worth something to you, a small donation is the whole business model. Nothing above depends on it: the promise holds whether you give anything or not.
